PARCELFORCE: GUIDANCE FOR GTA MEMBERS
Members will know that we hold Parcelforce Worldwide in high regard and the service they provide to our members is first class. Below are some useful pointers from Parcelforce and we recommend these to you.

Given the sensitive nature of the goods you send with us, we have been working with the Gun Trade Association to further improve the service we offer particularly regarding labeling, packaging and return collections.
Labeling and packaging
We would like to work with you regarding parcel labeling and improving packaging. Today we have been accepting firearms that are not enclosed in a corrugated box and with insufficient internal packaging to protect your precious goods. This can sometimes result in unnecessary damage and delays in transit. If your firearm is enclosed in a gun slip / canvas outer the label that you have carefully attached can all to easily fall off and parcels get delayed or even misrouted. Furthermore, if the label is not applied to a flat surface it may not be readily readable in our parcel tracking systems.
The guidelines (link below and HERE) provides you with some useful advice on how to package and label your parcel to ensure it is delivered safely in the same condition that you gave it to us.
As a reminder, all firearms must be booked by our shipping system (WDMO) indicating that a firearm is enclosed, so we can actively track and monitor your items through to final delivery.

Advice on return collections
This topic refers to collections of items being returned to you.
Today we have been accepting parcels without a PFW label already attached to the box. This happens because the returns collection label needs to be printed in the depot and we then have to affix it to the parcel. For orders booked the sameday we have to marry the collected parcel with the correct label back in the depot. This issue is sometimes compounded when the address hasn’t been written clearly on the package.
So we are requesting that all return collection requests are booked for next-day pick-up (rather than sameday) and that the address must also be clearly written on the parcel. In this way our driver will always be bringing the label out when he is collecting your parcel and this can be immediately affixed to the box.
