If you hold a Parcelforce RFD account, you may already have received the email below. If you haven’t, or if you have any concerns, please note that this broadcast confirms that the email is genuine.
As a carrier of firearms, Parcelforce is required to ensure that its RFD account holder details are accurate and up-to-date.
It is the responsibility of any RFD to keep certificates current. It is therefore reasonable for Parcelforce to carry out similar checks.
From the Parcelforce Firearms Account Team:
Just a very quick update for you as we do not have any further information at present, but, to confirm that the firearm account holders will now start to be contacted by our colleagues gradually, looking to obtain basic information from them, to carry out account related checks, to check that the information we hold on file remains current and correct to aid the migration process whereby we will soon be moving their accounts over to a better solution as part of our merge with Royal Mail to become one complete unified network.
Calls specifically relating to migration will be genuine. Please assure your members of this as, we have received a number of calls from members quite rightly asking if the calls are from a genuine source and they have been.
Please note that we are not privy to any further information at this time other than the above so are therefore unable to provide any comment on migration based beyond the above update.
