Are you passionate about countryside pursuits, country clothing, and delivering exceptional customer service? Ian Coley Sporting – one of the UK’s leading gun shops and shooting grounds – is looking for a dedicated Country Clothing & Gun Shop Sales Assistant to join our friendly, professional team.
About the Role:
You'll play a key part in the day-to-day operations of our gunroom and clothing department. This is a varied role suited to someone with excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude. You'll be involved in everything from customer service and sales to inventory management and visual merchandising.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting with all aspects of gunroom tasks including answering enquiries, photographing firearms for our website, and booking in deliveries via GunTrader systems
General sales within the gunroom
Maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming retail environment — including tidying, folding, and restocking
Ensuring all stock is put away and organised properly into stock rooms.
Managing the clothing budget and seasonal forward ordering
Monitoring and re-ordering clothing stock as required
Tracking out-of-stock products and back orders
Supporting online order fulfilment as needed
Monitoring discontinued clothing lines and ensuring timely sale pricing
Handling and organising faulty returns
Performing cashing up and banking duties
Managing till systems including stock movement and corrections
Representing Ian Coley Sporting at external retail events
Checking clothing invoices against deliveries to ensure accuracy
About You:
An interest in shooting sports and/or country lifestyle would be advantageous
Friendly, confident, and professional manner
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Capable of working both independently and as part of a small team
Prior retail experience is preferred, particularly in clothing or sporting goods
