Ian Coley Sporting is one of the UK’s leading destinations for game and clay shooters. We are currently looking for a Sales Assistant to join our Gun Room team, with a primary focus on the sale and management of shotguns, firearms, airguns, cartridges and shooting accessories.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for shooting sports to work in a dynamic, customer-facing environment.
Main Responsibilities:
Assisting customers with purchases of shotguns, rifles, airguns, ammunition, and shooting accessories
Booking in new and second-hand guns and managing listings on Guntrader
Valuing and purchasing second-hand guns
Advising customers on repairs and servicing options
Supporting with stock reordering across guns, cartridges, and accessories
Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers
Answering phone calls and emails in a timely and professional manner
General shop upkeep and housekeeping
Assisting with cashing up and banking at the end of day
Ideal Candidate:
Enthusiastic about shooting sports, with sound knowledge of firearms, shotguns, ammunition and shooting accessories
Experience in a similar retail environment or gun room is a bonus, though not essential
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Confident, organised, and proactive with good attention to detail
A Shotgun Certificate or willingness to obtain one Comfortable using IT systems
